Sterling Silver & Mother of Pearl Earrings

Paul, an emeritus prefessor at the university I studied my Masters degree at, asked me about creating a replica of a piece of his wife's jewellery for her birthday.

The piece was a pear shape mother of pearl set into a decorative cast setting. To retain symmetry, I made the original earring into a pendant and made two matching pieces which I mounted onto hooks to make some drop earrings. They turned out pretty well if you ask me!

Sterling Silver Lithocast Pendant

Mum commissioned me to make a Lithocast necklace of her dad, my Grandad for my Aunties 60th birthday in January 2022.

My auntie emigrated to France several years ago and struggles to return home.

I used a photograph my mum took of Pud during the days she was into photography, it's one of our favourites - he was such a handsome chap!

Keeley's Baby Scan Lithocast Locket Christmas 2022

Commissioned by my great uncle Ronnie. This Lithocast locket was gifted to his Granddaughter, Keeley on Christmas Day 2022 to celebrate the future arrival of her baby, who was born in April 2023.

This was a special commission indeed, not only was it my first locket, but this was the first time I've used one of my Lithocasts as a component in the construction of a piece of jewellery I had made. The locket also spins on the bail... did I mention it was a special commission?

Commissions are available on this locket, please see the shop tab for more info

Jesse's 18th - Sterling Silver Sunstone Ring

Jesse is very much a fan of statement jewellery!

For her 18th Birthday, Her mum, Zoe, selected the stone and asked me to set it in silver for her.

I bezel set the sunstone on a marquise shape plate of silver, which was mounded onto a double split shank ring to help balance the weight of this stunning stone on the finger.

Mums 60th - 9ct Yellow Gold & Champagne Diamond Cross

It was my Mother's 40th birthday in May 2000, she was given the gift of a gold pendant in the style of a Millennium cross with a bezel set diamond in the middle. This was one of her favourite pieces which she wore regularly for many years. Unfortunately, it was one of many pieces lost during a burglary in 2007. Reaching her 60th birthday in May 2020. Dad asked me to create another meaningful piece for this milestone birthday. Her millennium cross piece was one that she searched for years after it was stolen. I used this as my inspiration, giving the original design a revamp.

To create the design I carved a wax model which I cast with using the mismatched remains of jewellery she had left over from the burglary. This recycling of the gold she was previously gifted added a symbolism of renewal, the essence of the old jewellery was contained but it was reconditioned to help reform new memories tied to this piece.

Finally, I set a 4mm champagne diamond in the centre. During the 1800's the Victorians became obsessed with 'cataloguing and classifying' and after the queen Victoria's 60th year on the throne was established as her Diamond Jubilee, Diamonds have been associated with 60th anniversaries ever since.

Sterling Silver Triangular Lapis Lazuli Cabochon Pendant

A friend asked me to make something for his girlfriend's birthday. He wanted something blue and one of a kind. I let  him hand select a cabochon from my collection and got to work on the design.

The cabochon he'd chosen had a high profile, with interesting markings on the sides which I didn't want to cover. I set the stone in a hybrid setting - a low bezel to support the stones edges, with gallery style claws on each point of the triangle to secure the stone in place.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have a stone that you'd like setting!
